DPT Running on All Cylinders!
This past weekend saw the conclusion of the ABRA Cyclocross Series and the Dynamic Physical Therapy Team walked away from the weekend with all kinds of awards!
Betsy Shogren, the newly crowned West Virginia Women's Cat 1/2/3 Cyclocross State Champion added to her win total by capturing her seventh straight Cyclocross victory. The win also locked up Betsy as the Overall Women's Cat 1/2/3 ABRA Cyclocross Series Champion. Way to go Betsy!
Betsy loves the mud!
Gunnar didn't do so bad himself. Gunnar spent the day battling as he has done all season against friend and nemesis Gerry Pflug. Gunnar being the cross veteran that he is was not to be out done by his better half and he also took the win at Bruceton Mills CX. The victory gave Gunnar a perfect series scores of 175 points which gave him the series champion crown.
And as he has done for the entire season, Gunnar also was in the 1/2/3 class, racing, mixing it up, and laying it down. Though a bit tired from the earlier race, he never the less tried to race smart, capatilize on other's misfortunes, and generally hang on and try for nice move on the last lap. Third for the day was going to be it as Andy Weidrich was able to out-snake the snaker before the steps for second. Still, his placing kept Gunnar in third place in the younger man's top category.
Gunnar with Pflug just behind
New to the team, Scott Benson made his Dynamic PT Cycling debut this Cyclocross season and did not disappoint. The Morgantown, WV rider finished third overall in the series and let the other riders know they better look out in 2011 by winning the Cat 4 series finale race in style. Look for Benson to do great thing in 2011 while riding for DPTC!
Diggin the Kit Scotty!
What about me? Well I am glad you asked! I had my best cross season ever. Two top tens and a hand full of other respectable results. I also should say we still have a few non ABRA events to do in the 2010 cross season and I hope to add to that total!
Fat boy not looking so fat these days!
Next up! Look for the team to travel to Pittsburgh, PA this weekend to take part in the legendary "Dirty Dozen", a race that climbs the 13 steepest hills around the city. It is a leg burner, believe me!
Thanks to Dynamic Physical Therapy, Cannondale, Kenda Tires, Camelbak, Swiftwick, Ergon, I9, Mike Miller DDS, Edward Jones, Performance Coaching Services, Pro Gold Lube and Pathfinder for letting us race on the best equipment in the business
